Commissions Available

Commissions Available
To those who've asked me over the years if I do commissions, I've always replied with a cautious: "not currently, but perhaps someday." Well, that day is today!

Since I'm just wading into this, I'm going to limit the scope to Single Character, Minimal Background, Oekaki Style images. Once I'm comfortable with that, I can unlock some other options. But before I tack on more stipulations, I'll get right down to price.

Single Character, Minimal Background, Oekaki Style image:CONTENT: I'm willing to draw copyrighted as well as original characters. They must be adult age. You need to provide appropriate reference images. You need to provide enough description of what you want the drawing to look like. Instead of making a long list of the things I won't draw, I'll point to my gallery so you can see what's "in bounds." When in doubt, ask :]

QUEUING: Send your requests (with the word "commission" somewhere in the title) to wootart(at)gmail(dot)com. I'll process them in the order they're received, keeping a few at the front of the queue active, and the remainder dormant. If this list gets too long, I might call for a temporary halt so I can get caught up.

PAYMENT: Once I review and accept your idea, I'll prompt you to send the full amount via PayPal *before* I begin on the artwork.

REVISIONS: I'll send you the sketch before I move on to the ink and color stages. If you want something changed, this is when to ask for it. After that, no major changes will be considered.

POSTING: I won't post finished artwork if requested not to. Though by default, I'll assume that it's OK to post it online.

I look forward to working with you!

Paid a donation, as you know - I will *not* have my position as head sycophant be usurped!! [/attentionseeking]

Some people may object to the idea, but frankly I think that five years of free art and a gallery of 300+ pics is evidence enough that you should start getting rewarded. Good luck, sir :]

While it's not really "art", i still like this. I'm probably too easily amused, but I got a chuckle out of "WITH THE POWER OF IMAGINATION (AND MONEY)."

A question, however: would you do images based on book characters, provided there are enough descriptions?

"WITH THE POWER OF IMAGINATION (AND MONEY)!"
That's economic right there son.

Why is her mouth coloured in for "sketch" but not in "ink"?
I have no idea why this is bothering me so much. o_O

I'll come to you when I get my first paycheck.

GOD I HATE THIS LACK OF A JOB AND MONEY!

Well, this isn't about guilt tripping people, it's just a service I've been asked about for a while that I thought I'd finally offer.

I think I could help design a character if you included a good description and were able to answer a few questions.

The back of her mouth isn't filled in because I ink stuff with coloring in mind. Once you fill something with black, you can't retrieve the linework around it (but for the sketch it doesn't matter).

One question woot (unrelated to commissions): when you made "Superhero in Training," did you see this comic? (Search "subnormality supervillains anonymous" - it's the first result.) It seems like too much of a coincidence. Two separate artists channel the same "Lady Thunder Thighs" idea?

SirJimmy on
@woot: Point taken... I think, when I posted my comment, I specifically had in mind the kind of people that, having been breastfed on free content, instantly throw their arms up when the artist makes an attempt to get a buck, rather than supporting him. I realize most of your fans wouldn't be so uncivilised :x

woot on
This is the first time I've seen that. Though I am surprised that there's not more examples available since I think that "Thunder Thighs" translates well into a superhero name, and the bit isn't hard to come up with.

Also, there's never going to be a "Man Thunder Thighs" idea because it doesn't fit the idiom.

I heard one could be able to live with a single kidney...i wonder how much money worthy of being spent in comissions would i be paid after selling one of mine :P

It's time to fill your bathtub full of ice, get a scalpel, and find out!*

*I do not advocate selling human body parts to the black market.

Damn woot, I was so pleased when I read you accepted commissions, but then I saw the prices, and my jaw dropped. In a negative way, of course. :O

I mean, I don't want to offend you, I like your art and would be very happy to commission a BBW... but I've been buying commissions for a long time, and I really think your priced are A BIT to high.

I repeat, I don't want to sound mean... it's up to the artist to decide his prices, but this way you'll cut out many fans of your who don't work and could only afford cheaper prices.

I've paid 10$ for a B&W drawing like this: http://satsurou.deviantart.com/#/d306jut (don't consider her huge size, just the qualty). And it's even a gray scale pic, not an inked sketch! And he asks for 25$ for a full colored pic.

Now, it's true that your main art is about big breasts and not fatties (which gives you many more fans, since it's a much more common fetish), but I felt like having to tell you this.

I repeat, I don't want to offend you, nor I suggest to ask too few bucks for a commission... but seriously, those are quite the heavy prices there!

It's up to you, if you want to have more people commissioning think seriously about lowering the prices.

I'm saying all of this in friendship. Sorry if I bothered. :)

Bye

My art is worse than some. My art is better than others.
My prices are higher than some. My prices are lower than others.

Everything exists on a continuum. While things like prices are quantifiable, things like art are subjective. Because this is true, there's no method to determine price that you'll be able to get everyone to agree upon.

I'm sorry that you feel my prices are too high. My point is that no matter what my prices are, someone will always feel that they're too high.

Luckily, three hundred and twenty-two (and counting!) of my images on this site are totally free to view and download! I hope you continue to enjoy those :]

Woot, you now have a potential buyer, but I will wait until I have something I feel worthwhile to have commissioned.

I find it funny the anon on oct25 used "heavy prices" to describe the dissatisfaction with them. Honestly, if someone was going to buy a fairly well rendered piece, $25 for an ink is not at all bad, and $45 isn't that bad considering your detail. Again, with art being subjective, I can see why the person pointed that the piece they got commissioned was $10, there's not a whole lot going on in that pic. Detail is still sloppy, and there's no real anatomy to be considered as an art piece. Again, that extreme blob pic is not my style, but maybe for some. Again, I agree with your point; worst than others, better than others, lower than others, higher than others. It's all subjective, and really, $45 isn't that much. Plus you have provided a ton more work available to see than others who've asked for commissions.

woot on
Anon, I do appreciate hearing your honest opinion. It's always worthwhile to listen to both sides of an issue.

Anonomnomnom, I hope you think of something good :]

Oh wow! I'm going to have to save up and get a few commissions! :)

I'm sold! Count me in!

@woot: Somebody as well-traveled across the vast plains of the Internet as me [/bragging] can confirm that "Man Thunder Thighs" has existed in various incarnations. And I feel dirty for knowing.

MDetector5 on
Good luck on the commissions (and to be fair, you have a few done since you posted this)!

Um, are you still going to offer art trades, though? Not to be a... bother, but I've been wanting to trade with you for years, but never really asked. I've been a fan for years, and it would've been cool to do something with you.

I do need to start drawing BE again myself, though. After seeing your work, I'm getting closer to doing that :)

Regardless, keep up the good work!
